Camping in Toronto

On June 3rd we left for our camping trip to Toronto. We camped at Albion Hills conservation park. It was an easy trip for us, Alyssa had her movies to watch since our new van has a dvd player so she was happy. Cassie slept on and off on the trip, nursing when we stopped at the rest area. In the bathroom because the little stinker is grabby! I tried to nurse her out in public but she decided that it would be fun to flash everyone because she kept grabbing at the blanket and pulling it off.
The only bad thing, it was raining! It rained from Ottawa all the way to the camping grounds! So Trent and I pitched our tent in the rain while the girls sat in the van. Alyssa occupied by her movie. We did have to go back to her because a mosquito had gotten into the van when we opened it. (OMG they seemed to just swarm the van as soon as we pulled in.) So mosquito killed, back to pitching the tent..... It has mesh on the roof, and then the rain jacket covers it, I gues in hinesight we should have laid out the tent fast, getting the poles in the right spot, THEN laying the rain jacket on top of it, all poles with that, then pop the tent up so that when it was standing up, it wasn't getting wet on the inside. Oh well, we learned! LOL
So since we did it that way, the mesh got soaked, which then dripped all night onto Trent and my bed.

I'm 2 today!!!

Today my little sweetie is 2 years old! I can't believe that 2 years have gone by so fast. Seems like yesterday that she was born. *sniffle sniffle*
She had a great birthday. She did a lot of running around. Then helped Mommy make some cupcakes. I did the frosting and she added the sprinkles on the cupcakes.
I got her in her dress and did her hair and then it was off with Daddy, Mommy and "Uncle" Allen (our roommate). We went out for dinner and met Nana and Papa Lanthier at the Mongolian Villiage.
Nana and Papa Lanthier brought her presents, they got her a Dora bike helmet, elbow and knee pads. They also got her a big girl bike. She can't wait to ride her bike tomorrow.

My Mom and Brother are flying in on March 24th so we are having a big birthday party for Alyssa on the 25th. So we are doing the friends over, her ice cream cake (I'm drawing Dora's face on it for her) and her presents! It should be so much fun! Plus she can meet the next door neighbor's twin girls. :) They are 2.
So she's really getting 2 birthday parties! What a lucky little girl!

Lets see, what has been going on in the World of Alyssa these days?
Well she's a talking machine. She LOVES to run around. She does laps around the dinning room and kitchen, laughing the whole time.

Little Ray's Reptile Zoo

Hi!
Yesterday morning we took Alyssa to Little Ray's Reptile Zoo. It was sooo neat!! Alyssa really enjoyed watching the animals and was more interested in the one's that kept moving. She really liked the Turtles and the 2 baby (3-4month old) skunks that they rescued. At the turtles she kept saying "turtle" it was cute.
We saw lots of snakes, caiman, alligator's, crocs, and turtles. Then we were told to meet up in the big room cause it was hands on time. So in there we got to see a Barn Owl, a gecko, a Tarantula, the baby skunks, a caiman. We got to pet and touch them all. When it came to the baby skunks we got to hold them. :) That was soo neat! I would NOT how ever hold the tarantula, I let Trent do that. LOL but I don't like spider's! It was cool to look at but I didn't want to touch it. Oh we did get to hold the gecko too. Alyssa held it too. That was neat.
Too bad we couldn't get any picture's. Maybe when she's older we can that way she knows not to squish them.
It was a really fun zoo. Can't wait to take her back when she's older..
You can see the zoo here.
P.S.
You should of seen the size of the Iguana's they had!! They dwarfed my iguana that I had! Holy Crap they were big!!!! LOL

Sat night dinner party at Grandma Stinsons

So yesterday we went to Trent's Mom's house for dinner. We left after lunch and headed over. Alyssa and I got to help pickle some cucumber's, onions and bell peppers. Gosh Alyssa LOVED the bell peppers from the brine! LOL She must of had 4 strips!
She also liked watching Grandma cut up apple for the homemade apple pie. But it was just watching because she had just woken up from a nap. (we had just got there) and she wasn't to sure who this "Grandma" person was first thing.
We had to dig up some potatoes from the garden so she helped with that and liked it! She had her little garden gloves on that Grandma bought her, little metal rake, and the other garden tools that Grandma got. It was cute and Trent and I were kicking ourselves that we didn't have the camera! Oh well next time we head out I'm bringing it!
The only thing she didn't like about digging up the potatoes was the washing them after, that water was COLD!
Later Grandma and her went back to the garden and picked a nice bell pepper. She wanted to eat it right then and there! The little turkey! I think she even tried to eat one of the raw red potatoes too! HAHAHA
So for dinner she had some BBQ pork roast, some cauliflower with white sauce, her potato and for dessert it was the pie and cool whip!
